BIOGRAPHY

Harriet Batstone graduated from Camberwell College of Arts (London) with a BA Fine ArtPainting in 2023 and is currently undertaking an MFA in Textiles at Parsons School of Design, New York. She divides her time between New York and London, gaining inspiration from industrial landscapes as well as nature and natural surroundings. 

 

With knitting being her predominant medium she explores painting through fibre, attempting to blur the lines between Fine Art and Craft. She is considering the symbiotic relation between colour, tactility, nature and emotion within her works as she believes that through the synthesis of these elements, textile art has the capacity to transcend immediate concerns, offering moments of respite and emotional connection.
